MTAM Board and Committees – Engage, Influence, Network, Improve, Have Fun!

One of the great opportunities that MTAM provides to members is the chance to help shape your profession. By accepeting a nomination to the Board or joining one of MTAM’s very active, volunteer committees, you can do just that.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Board meetings occur from 9:00am - 12:30pm on the last Monday of the month with the exception of August and December. Directors are elected to 2-year terms, attend monthly meetings and from time-to-time will be required to have discussions on our Board Slack channel.

Nominations to the Board can be made by a colleague or you may choose to self-nominate. Prior Board or committee experience is an asset but all new Board members are provided with an orientation and information to assist them with understanding Board activities and responsibilities.

We try not to schedule meetings in August or December because committee volunteers need a break too!

Meetings are held via Zoom to allow all members, regardless of where they live, an opportunity to be a part of a committee.

Committees also remain active between meetings on a communication platform called Slack.

Helping shape your profession and giving back to your fellow members isn’t the only perk of being an active committee member. You also get:

  • Professional development opportunities
  • Continuing education credits
  • Experience and education toward becoming a future Board member
  • Awareness of the profession on local, provincial and national levels
  • Opportunity to become a more well-rounded healthcare professional

Joining an MTAM committee is just one of the ways that you can be part of the Community, Support, and Growth at MTAM and in the massage therapy profession.

For more information about each of the committees and how to join one, contact MTAM at info@mtam.mb.ca

We hope to see you at a committee meeting soon!
