Insurance Coverage

The MTAM provides its members with access to the most comprehensive insurance program in the profession through BFL Canada - Trisura Guarantee Trust.

Insurance is an important part of the professional portfolio of a massage therapist and equally important to the client/patient. Always make certain your massage therapist has comprehensive liabiilty insurance.

Features of the 2012 MTAM Insurance Program includes:

• $3 Million of coverage for professional liability
• $3 Million of general liability coverage
• $1 Million Employers Liability
• $1 Million Advertising Liability
• $1 Million Non-Owned Auto
• $500,000 Tenants Legal Liability
• Aggregate - $4 Million
• $5,000 - Identity Theft protection
• $3,000 Office Contents

Members who practice as RMT's must be insured.

Office Package

The MTAM also offers a competitive Office Insurance package carrying a minimum of $25,000 coverage for rates of $225 for office/clinic based business and $200 for home-based offices. Prices exclude GST.  Higher coverage packages are available.

Across Canada Coverage

The MTAM’s policy provides coverage anywhere in Canada - please contact the MTAM office if you are planning on re-locating or travelling for business purposes to discuss geographic restrictions.

Traveling Outside of Canada

If you are traveling to work outside of Canada, the MTAM program can be extended to provide coverage while you are away.  A rider is added to your policy to provide coverage for the specific dates and locations where you will be providing the service. 

These insurance rquirements are further supported by a comprehensive complaints & discipline process that all MTAM members are required to adhere to and be bound by.
